Perfect Presentations 101: Printable Slides
I know that sometimes you need to print out handouts, but it’s an unreasonable waste of toner to print all that nice backgrounds and dark solid shapes.
What can we do about this?
It is not necessary to stick to monochrome in your presentations or go into minimalism for the sake of the printable slides.
PowerPoint has a tool that simplifies my life when the client wants colorful, yet printable slides. This tool is Color and Black-and-White view mode, that can be switched on the PowerPoint pane.
Go to: View—Normal—Color / Grayscale / Black and White. Choose Black and White.
Remove the excessive visuals in the Black and White version and then select the desired palette with a single click.
PowerPoint automatically removes the color in the Black and White and in the Grayscale when you are switching between the modes. After that, you can click on the objects and choose — to show them or not in the chosen mode.
Quick and cheap option for getting printable slides, right? No need of duplicating the presentation to create the separate version “for print”.
PS: Seems, that if you’re a Mac user, you’re not invited to this black-and-white party.
