The goal was to simplify complex scientific data and present it in a clear, engaging, and actionable format.Our work resulted in a set of scientific illustrations that effectively bridge the gap between complex data and actionable insights. By applying design-thinking and visualization techniques, we successfully transformed technical information into a communication tool that helps regulators make informed, impactful decisions for European lake management.
Diverse Scientific Perspectives
One of the major challenges we encountered was aligning different viewpoints from scientists across various disciplines. These diverse perspectives sometimes led to conflicting opinions on how data should be presented. To address this, we held multiple collaborative sessions to ensure a consensus-driven approach while maintaining scientific integrity.
Balancing Accuracy with Simplicity
Another challenge was balancing the need for simplicity in communication without losing the technical accuracy of the scientific data. Through iterative design reviews and feedback loops with experts, we found the right balance that satisfied both scientific rigor and ease of understanding for non-expert audiences.
